Foz. In Iguaca, we saw the Itaipu Dam and Iguaca Falls. The Itaipu dam is the largest hydroelectric power plant in the world, and

During June of 2002, I went to South America with my family. We traveled in Brazil and Argentina. In Brazil, we went to Rio de Janeiro and Iguaca (also called Iguassa) Falls. In Argentina, we went to
Buenos Aires, San Luis and
Mendoza.

We left on May 31 and took a flight from Minneapolis/St. Paul
International Airport to Atlanta, GA. From Atlanta, we flew to Rio de
Janeiro. Our hotel was a large hotel called the Rio Othon Hotel. It was right across the street from
Copacabana Beach. We went to the beach every day.

Other things we saw in Rio de
Janeiro were Sugarloaf Mountain, the Christ Redeemer Statue, San Sebastian Cathedral and the
Macarena Soccer Stadium. The Christ Redeemer Statue is made from over 1,000 tons of concrete. It is a reconciliation place for the
people of Rio. The San Sebastian Cathedral is huge. It can hold up to

180,000 people. The Macarena is the largest soccer stadium in the world.

On June 4, we took another flight to Iguaca Falls, a small town popular for conventions and conferences, for a conference organized by my father. We stayed at the Hotel International
